Bocas del Toro and Sailing to Colombia

Posted by: perry on 08/19/2008 02:24 (Read: 13)
We took our free flight to Bocas del Toro and stayed there a lot longer than we expected to. After that we went back to Panama City, got all of our stuff in gear, and started (and started again) on our way to get to Colombia. We ended up cycling across the country (a one day trip), then along the coast where we found a yacht toCartegena.

Mad Dash Through Central America

Posted by: perry on 07/25/2008 04:24 (Read: 85)
We left Guatemala City on the 15th of July to try to get to the capital of Colombia before the 26th so we could visit Arian, a friend of Austin's. We figured we should try to be there at least by the 24th so that we would have at least a little bit of time before she left to go back to Chicago. So, between Guatemala and Colombia are five countries and about 2000km. Read on to see how it went.

Guatemala: Antigua, San Pedro, Mayapedal

Posted by: perry on 07/13/2008 05:23 (Read: 97)

In the last few weeks I've been in Antigua, San Pedro La Laguna, and Mayapedal. In Antigua I took two weeks of spanish course, in San Pedro I took drugs, and in Mayapedal I hoped that I would help them out building bikes and bike powered machines. Read more...

Guatemala: Florens, Rio Dulce, Samuc Champay

Posted by: perry on 06/15/2008 02:27 (Read: 98)
We entered Guatemala at a small river crossing and headed into the north of Guatemala from there. So far our travels in Guatemala have taken us to Flores, El Romate, Rio Dulce, Livinston, Samuc Champay (wow!), and Guatemala City. We've been through quite a lot and this will probably be just a quick summary.

Chiapas

Posted by: perry on 05/19/2008 12:30 (Read: 171)
Austin and I went to Tuxtla to meet up with Gina. It was supposed to take just a day or two, but nope, it didn't. After that we went to San Cristobal to meet up with Ariel again and finally start travelling as a group of 4. We went through the mountains of Chiapas to Agua Azul and Palenque before heading to the border of Guatemala.
